Your Brain At Work

Your Brain At Work

This workshop is based on an outstanding new book Your Brain at Work by David Rock, also the author of Quiet Leadership. He brings a synthesis of recent brain research to the discussion of decision making and leadership at work. This workshop will highlight the tips on maximizing the available brainpower you have, by anticipating situations that will use significant resources, and planning in order to maximize your access to ideas and decisions. When you have a language to describe your own mental processing, it is more likely that you have choice about it. It gives you more veto power. This workshop will provide:

  • Understanding of how to maximize use of your brain power
  • Understanding how and when your mental processing gets fatigued
  • Knowing what to do when you have too many ideas jockeying for attention.
  • Practicing the key to acknowledging emotions while reducing the distracting impact
  • Learning about how the brain accesses stored information
  • Inhibiting mind-wandering impulses
  • Decoding the toward/away response
  • Why problem resolution isn’t always the best approach.
  • Understand how brains are changed (not carrot or stick)
  • Increasing your ability to have more insights
  • Understand the two modalities the brain operates in and how to choose
  • Learn the essential functions of the brain, and how to access them more efficiently
